The numbers 0870 and 0845 are the premium rate non-geographic numbers in UK .It means that these numbers do not tie to any UK county and they can be assigned anywhere in the world by a Local UK Telephone company.

So they can phone these numbers as much as they like without thinking or worrying about the cost.
This is really great and very big news for everyone in UK calling these premium rate numbers. Now they can make calls for FREE inclusive of their calling plans. However looking at the stiff competition in the home phone business in UK, the rest of the companies might follow BT soon.
BT landline # 0870 fair use policies to make free calls.
Per month the max of 1000 minutes or 150 phone calls are allowed, to be consumed (whichever is reached first), each phone call is limited to max 60 FREE minutes i.e. an hour, Call that will exceed the limit will be billed @ normal tariff of 7.5p per minute.
But we must remember that these numbers will be FREE inclusive of the deals, that means they are still charged but in your inclusive minutes.
